PSR attorneys Erika Contreras and Brian Panish successfully resolved a Texas wrongful death case arising from the tragic loss of Stephanie Ferrer and her two children, Leilani and Joseph Orr. The fatal collision occurred when a WS Energy employee, driving a company vehicle while under the influence, crossed into oncoming traffic and struck the family’s vehicle head-on. After the initial impact left the vehicle disabled, it was subsequently struck by two separate semi-trucks, resulting in the deaths of all three occupants.

PSR represented Ms. Ferrer’s adult son and the father of Leilani and Joseph Orr. Plaintiffs alleged that the WS Energy driver was acting within the course and scope of his employment at the time of the collision, while defendants disputed liability. The case resolved through a global settlement of $11,000,000, with $5,500,000 allocated to PSR’s clients.
