Alex J. • $37,025,000 settlement pursuant to a high/low agreement during jury deliberations in a 30 day trial for a former United States Navy engineer who suffered a below-the-knee amputation following a motorcycle collision. Michael LaPlante et al. v. Griffith Co. et al., San Diego Superior Court (2025).
• $30,000,000 settlement for a man who suffered quadriparesis as a result of a defective vehicle axle which broke, causing the vehicle to rollover on the freeway.
• $21,000,000 settlement in Maricopa County in a wrongful death case against a company and its employee for negligence and negligent hiring, training, and supervision.
• $19,250,000 settlement for a Good Samaritan who was attempting to provide assistance to another passenger trapped in his vehicle on the freeway when a semi-truck collided into the disabled vehicle, resulting in a severe traumatic brain injury.
• $15,250,000 settlement in a wrongful death case against a company and its employee for a construction accident involving a front loader.
• $12,500,000 settlement against the City of Fountain Valley for its officer’s negligent operation of a patrol car, causing a severe collision with Plaintiff’s vehicle, resulting in a severe TBI, vocal chord paralysis, and multiple facial fractures.
• Over $12,000,000 settlement for a motorcyclist who suffered paralysis from the mid-torso down as well as multiple fractures and internal organ lacerations due to a negligent motorist and a dangerous designed roadway with unsafe sightlines.
• Over $10,000,000 settlement in Maricopa County against a trucking company and its employee for negligence and negligent hiring, training, and supervision.

• $6,700,000 settlement in Maricopa County for a head-on auto collision when a worker within the course and scope of her employment fell asleep behind the wheel, resulting in significant orthopedic injuries.

• $6,250,000 settlement against a public bus company for a bicycle collision resulting in moderate traumatic brain injury.
• Over $6,000,000 settlement for a product liability case resulting in severe burns and wrongful death.
• $6,100,000 settlement for a 2-year-old child who suffered a severe traumatic brain injury when his teacher allowed the toddler to walk into a driveway, where he was hit by an SUV.
• An over $6,000,000 settlement for a man who suffered second and third degree burns to over 60% of his body due to a flash fire resulting from a negligently designed heater that was stored in a negligently constructed equipment room.
• $6,000,000 settlement for an man and a woman who were injured during an apartment fire in Long Beach, California.

• $3,500,000 settlement in Maricopa County for a motorcyclist who was involved in a collision with a tractor trailer, resulting in devastating leg injuries.
• A $3,000,000 settlement for an unbelted Arizona man in Maricopa County who suffered a moderate traumatic brain injury as well as orthopedic injuries when his vehicle was T-boned by a driver in the course and scope of his employment.
• Working alongside PSR partner Spencer Lucas, Mr. Behar secured a $2,595,103.97 judgment in a bench trial for a Nevada woman who suffered severe and permanent injuries after she was struck by a vehicle while walking through a hotel parking lot in Pasadena, California. The judgment was awarded following a three-week bench trial before a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge.

Mr. Behar began his legal career as a defense attorney, giving him a unique perspective and insight into the litigation process. Having represented the interests of the nation’s largest insurance carriers, he understands how these carriers value claims, interpret policies, and litigate actions. Additionally, Mr. Behar has represented Fortune 500 companies including the U.S. Bank and the Bank of New York Mellon in both state and federal actions.

Prior to entering the civil practice, Mr. Behar clerked at both the Los Angeles County and Ventura County District Attorney’s Offices. He obtained his J.D. from Loyola Law School, where he was a member of the Hobbs Trial Advocacy Program, and graduated from UCLA with a degree in Political Science. While at UCLA, Mr. Behar proudly served as a Justice Corps volunteer, assisting low income litigates with divorce and custody proceedings at the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Mr. Behar is a member of the State Bar of Arizona as well as California. He resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife and young family.
