Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP’s work in two of the nation’s most significant plaintiff matters has earned the firm national recognition as a finalist in two categories at the 2026 Elite Trial Lawyers Awards. PSR was selected as a finalist in both Catastrophic Injury and Mass Torts, placing the firm among the country’s leading plaintiffs’ law firms.
Presented annually by The National Law Journal and Law.com, the Elite Trial Lawyers Awards recognize the nation’s most accomplished plaintiff firms for exceptional trial advocacy and significant results. Winners will be announced on July 23, 2026, at the JW Marriott Essex House in New York City.
Catastrophic Injury
The firm’s Catastrophic Injury finalist designation recognizes its work in Hakimi v. City of Los Angeles and the Cheng matter—two cases involving devastating traumatic brain injuries that resulted in landmark jury verdicts.
In Hakimi, PSR secured a $48.8 million jury verdict on behalf of a father of five who remains comatose after being struck by a City of Los Angeles sanitation truck while lawfully crossing in a marked crosswalk. The verdict demonstrated the firm’s ability to present complex medical evidence while conveying the profound, lifelong impact of catastrophic brain injury.
The nomination also recognized the firm’s work in the Cheng case, in which PSR obtained a $34.1 million jury verdict on behalf of an 80-year-old pedestrian who suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and multiple orthopedic injuries after an Amphastar Pharmaceuticals co-founder ran a red light, lost control of her vehicle, and struck him while he was walking on a sidewalk. Once an active and independent father and grandfather, the plaintiff now requires round-the-clock care as a result of his injuries. Together, these cases reflect PSR’s longstanding commitment to securing justice for clients whose lives have been permanently changed by negligence.
Mass Torts
The firm’s Mass Torts finalist designation recognizes its leadership in the Maui Wildfires Litigation, one of the largest disaster cases in modern American history. Representing individuals, families, businesses, and property owners devastated by the August 2023 wildfires, PSR is helping pursue accountability in litigation arising from one of the deadliest wildfires in U.S. history.
Whether representing a single catastrophically injured client or thousands of victims in complex mass tort litigation, Panish | Shea | Ravipudi LLP approaches every case with the same philosophy: meticulous preparation, fearless trial advocacy, and an unwavering commitment to accountability on behalf of our clients. Being named a finalist in both Catastrophic Injury and Mass Torts reflects the breadth of the firm’s trial practice and its continued leadership in the nation’s most consequential civil litigation.
