PSBR Investigating Claims Following Amtrak Train Collision and Derailment in Moorpark

Three train cars derailed and the nearly 200 passengers on board were evacuated to a nearby field as authorities assessed the scene. At least 15 passengers were taken to a nearby hospital for their injuries, as well as the driver of the commercial vehicle who is said to be in critical condition.

The train was on its way to Los Angeles from Seattle when “it struck a water truck obstructing the tracks” at 11:15 a.m., Amtrak said in a statement.
